About

Hi I’m Steph!

I’m a cat loving, tea drinking all round creative lass currently residing in Nottingham UK. For as long as I can remember I’ve been drawing, sewing, baking and pursuing all sort of crafty endeavors. I’ll give pretty much anything ago (which you can read about on here) and I get a great buzz out of being able to return a compliment with “Thanks, I made it”! My main loves are knitting and sewing, I also make most of my own jewellery (occupational inevitability, working at a Bead Shop and teaching jewellery making workshops)!

There are two main reasons I’ve wanted to write this blog, firstly I wanted to make a record of all the things I’ve made and accomplished over the years, as well as sharing a few trips and events along the way. Secondly I have read many inspiring blogs which have helped and encouraged me to do/try things, whether it’s seeing a combination of colours used in someone’s sewing project, a genius storage idea or dressmaking patterns. I feel I’ve gained a lot from reading various blogs, so if I too can just inspire one or two people in some small way that would be great feeling – giving a little something back.

Having started in this blog in September 2012, I recently had a reflective moment about blogging, how inspiring and rewarding it can be, if you’d like to read it, you’ll find it here.

Back in 2007 I set up Knit In Notts, a social knitting group in Nottingham. This possibly is one of my greatest achievements – although it has not made me money or changed my life (dramatically), it has given me some great friends and provides a fountain of knowledge on knitting and anything and everything else! You can join Knit In Notts on face book here  https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/4274937342/

I have written several blog post about the knitting group from it’s humble beginnings, to events and projects. To read more about the group or my knitted projects select the ‘knitting’ category from my home page!

Hi! Would you mind if I use this drawing as the base for a tattoo I’ve been thinking about? I want a piece of knit work, with the names and dates of birth of my children along the needles. Underneath goes ‘I knit you together in your mother’s womb’
    Please feel free to decline!

Hello Marianne! I really appreciate you asking & I’m flattered you want to use my drawing, all I ask in exchange is to see a photo of your tatoo, if you don’t mind 🙂

      Good luck with it!
